There's An Online Store To Help You Smuggle Grog Into Festivals

There's An Online Store To Help You Smuggle Grog Into Festivals

Smuggle Your Alcohol is one of those websites that does exactly what it says on the tin. Its one purpose to help you subtly and effectively smuggle grog into music festivals, which is something we certainly don't advise you do.

But then again, we know telling people not to do something is as good as begging them to do it, so we're just gonna carry on talking about this whacky website and its fairly ingenious products, like flasks that look like sunscreen bottles.

But the creativity doesn't stop there. As Stoney Roads notes, there's candy box flasks, binocular flasks, hairbrush flasks, insect repellant flasks, a flask that looks like a can of Lynx deodorant, and even a flask that looks like a scarf.

One the one hand, this is amazing. It's like an Amazon or an Etsy for the express purpose of getting smashed at a music festival. On the other hand, once organisers and the authorities get wise to this site, they're gonna start twisting the top off everything in your bag at the entrance.

We can't attest to the quality of the products, though they do look pretty good. The sunscreen flasks look like actual tubes of sunscreen and the Lynx can is very convincing and they don't cost an arm and a leg either, with your standard sunscreen flask running about $16.95.

Lana Del Rey Pays Tribute to Leonard Cohen

Lana Del Rey Pays Tribute to Leonard Cohen

Yesterday, it was announced that singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen had died at the age of 82. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed. He passed away on Monday and was buried yesterday at Montreal's Congregation Shaar Hashomayim. Upon announcement of his death, people from around the music community and beyond paid their respects to the icon. Lana Del Rey, who covered Leonard Cohen's 1974 song “Chelsea Hotel No. 2” in 2013, honored Cohen today with a post on her Instagram. Find the post below. “I'd be lying if I said it didn't kind of break my heart that I never got to tell you how much you changed me,” she said in the caption of a clip with the cover. “Not that it would've mattered to ya, it's just that other than Bob and Joan you were the only person I ever really felt spoke my language.”

Beck, Win Butler, Nick Cave, Ezra Koenig, and Justin Trudeau were among the many people who paid tribute to Leonard Cohen after hearing of his death. Earlier today, Deerhunter's Bradford Cox penned a touching eulogy for the fallen icon.

Joyce DiDonato: In War and Peace CD review – a heartfelt message

Joyce DiDonato (mezzo-soprano), Il Pomo d'Oro/ Emelyanychev
(Erato)

In the midst of chaos, how do I find peace, asks Joyce DiDonato. The American mezzo-soprano has applied her usual curiosity and seriousness to the question in her latest themed CD, In War and Peace, drawn from baroque opera and oratorio with an emphasis on Handel and Purcell. The prompt for the album – which meant jettisoning another – was the attacks in Paris last year. The “war” tracks open with Handel's Scenes of Horror, and mix familiar (Dido's Lament, Lascia ch'io pianga) with an arresting world premiere recording from Leonardo Leo's Adromaca (1742). In “peace”, Monteverdi and Jommelli feature too. DiDonato brings technical security and a variety of tonal colours to each aria. Il Pomo d'Oro offer bristling accompaniment under principal conductor Maxim Emelyanychev. Purists may quibble here and there, but it's hard to resist DiDonato's heartfelt message.

As promised last week, A$AP Mob's new film Money Man is finally out. The 12-minute flick is a grainy black-and-white romp through criminal enterprise, reckless discharge of multiple weapons, and some gobbledygook about poisonous butterflies. The art film also features two new songs set to appear on A$AP Mob's upcoming Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: "Money Man" with A$AP Rocky and A$AP Nast…

Moby & the Void Pacific Choir promote a Trump-free America with new song “Little Failure” - listen

If last night's debate proved anything, it's that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump can't stand to be the butt of the joke. That's too bad for him, because the giant man-baby has another fastball coming his way in the form of “Little Failure”, the new song by Moby & the Void Pacific Choir that premiered today as part of the anti-Trump 30 Days, 30 Songs playlist.

The song, which recites a litany of Trump's transgressions over a heavy guitar riff and repeatedly refers to him as a “little failure”, is bound to get under Cheeto Voldemort's skin. He had better save some of his ire, though, because there are 17 more tracks still to come in the playlist “written and recorded by artists for a Trump-free America.” Other artists that have contributed so far include Death Cab for Cutie, R.E.M., and Franz Ferdinand.

Sing like Adele

Sing like AdeleI am a huge lover of the designer Adele. I do not know if I have written that before but you know it now. I just love her performing. What an incredible audio. She makes me feel unhappy and happy and almost everything else.
If you are a fan of Adele then you will know what I mean. Guess what? I have started some singing lessons. I went through a great website that linked me with a teacher and we have had two lessons. I have included some details about the website below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCD3QBA3fDQ

So how is my singing tuition progressing? I'm not a professional yet but I have improved a lot and can even sing in tune now. I haven't tried to sing anything by Adele yet though!

Airbourne: Breakin' Outta Hell review – simple, crude and utterly crowdpleasing

(Spinefarm)

Airbourne don't get any less ridiculous on their fourth album, nor any more sophisticated. While Joel O'Keeffe insists he's breakin' outta hell on the title track, by the sixth song he can feel himself “slipping into hell's door”. Entendre barely reaches the level of double – “When I was a boy, I played with my toy, every single day, ooh it was a joy,” insists Down on You, a celebration of cunnilingus that might as well be called I Really Like Cunnilingus. Still, it makes a change for a hard rocker to be giving pleasure rather than demanding it. But hard rock albums stand or fall by their riffs, and Airbourne have them by the truckload. They've seen no reason to evolve their modus operandi – listen to AC/DC, then make it faster and harder – but why would you, when you're making albums that whizz by in a blaze of overdriven guitars and terrace choruses?

How to the flute helped me relax

How to the flute helped me relaxStudying here in Adelaide can be very stressful. I do struggle working part time while going to college and most of the time it really burns me out. I always feel tired most of the time during the day and cannot seem to sleep early at night. I figured I have been drinking too much coffee just to cope with the sluggishness I feel in the morning. I tried cutting back on coffee but that only made things worst. I cannot focus and I feel grumpy without it. I decided to take relaxing more seriously and to get more sleep during the night, but it was easier said than done. I tried drinking chamomile tea to ease my nerves but it did not seem to help me at all. I tried the usual stuff as well like taking a warm shower and drinking milk, but again it did not help. Out of desperation, I decided to browse the net for some solution. I found an article stating that music therapy could help. So I gave it a try since compared to other alternatives, this one was relatively safe. I started off listening to piano music but did not really find it as relaxing as I wanted it to be. Next, I tried listening to the violin but found it a little too distracting since I reminded me of the orchestra. Just when I was about to give up, I gave the flute music a try and surprisingly, it worked. I found myself able to sleep quickly and I was getting more and more relaxed when I wanted to unwind. I felt like I was in a serene place like a spa whenever I hear it. I wish I did it sooner. Now I wake up more energized and able to enjoy my student life here in Adelaide. additional resources

The Violin helped me study

The Violin helped me studyWhenever my thoughts become wild and racing, it makes it hard for me to focus and study. I tried studying in silence but I cannot stand it. The silence has a real boring effect on me and I end up sleepy and unable to focus. I tried drinking coffee which works at first but irritated my stomach a lot. For fear of developing an ulcer and I was starting to feel palpitations, I stopped drinking coffee. Being a student here in Melbourne, I spend most of my days either reading or writing, so I really need to learn how to focus. My problem with studying began to take a toll on me. I tried listening to music while studying which work on keeping me up and alert but did not help with my focus at all. I would just catch my thoughts drifting away because of the song lyrics. Frustrated, I decided to research my problem online. One solution that I found was to try instrumental music. Since it does not have lyrics to distract me, I decided to give it a try. The piano instrumental did not really appeal to me since it was too classical for my taste. The flute did not work since the song selection reminded me of the music they play at spas. Then I decided to try violin instrumentals. It finally worked. The upbeat happy mood created by the violin sound kept me awake and able to focus without it being too distracting. I found that my mood improved significantly and I no longer have an upset stomach since I able to stop drinking coffee. I have been giving the violin instrumental a try for two weeks now and it is working marvelously. Hopefully, all this studying and listening to music would translate to better grades. I am crossing my fingers on this. try this web-site

My new inspiration for an instrument in Brisbane

My new inspiration for an instrument in BrisbaneJust saw an orchestra performance online from Brisbane. I know it is a big instrument compared to the conventional things that we see, not really your typical string instrument like a guitar but it is fascinating how it can make such a richer sound. Got me thinking it would be nice learning to play an instrument that makes you stand out a little. At first, I thought the music it can produce would be limited to orchestral use, but saw a lot of videos online and I was pleasantly surprised. It can be used for accompaniment for ballads, pop songs and even saw a performance which it was used for a rock song. It might be as versatile as a guitar and could be such a big show stealer of a talent. I am just curious whether it would be as rewarding and satisfying as playing the piano, which I also love, but I have been wanting to try another instrument since I was a child. Maybe the cello is the best for me. I know it is kind of big but so is a piano! I can always take lessons here in Brisbane just like what I did for learning the piano so that would not be an issue for me. I am all hyped up about it. I do not really know a lot of cello musicians out there, there are certainly no one within in my circle of friends who plays cello and mind you most of them are musically inclined. Maybe this could be the next step for me in my music journey. Really great listening to orchestral music then being pleasantly surprised of what inspiration you can gain. I am just doing the rest of my research on which one to buy and where to take the lessons, but it looks like I am all set in learning this. hop over to this website

Dance yourself happy: the rise of the sober rave

Out with overpriced booze and 5am taxi rides, in with early morning shape-throwing, yoga spaces and ‘greeting angels’. With advocates in Boy George and Fatboy Slim, is the sober rave here to stay?

A drink called a summer love cup is shoved into my hand. Containing a colourful spectrum of orange, strawberry, apple, mint, lemonade and orange blossom, this sugary concoction could have been served at a school disco. In reality, I’m at something just a little more adult: a sober rave in Hackney. In recent years, these events have been cropping up around the world, from Sober Sweden in Stockholm to UK rave nights such as Awakening, We Are One, Right Here Right Now, Love is Key and perhaps the grandaddy of them all, Morning Gloryville.

With positive energy, mindfulness and wellness all buzzwords in 2016, there is a strong new-age spirituality element at these parties. But are these conscious nightclubs a nascent trend or just another fly-by-night fad?

The piano prodigy determined to beat Hitler

I had a lovely interview the other week with the American pianist Mona Golabek, whose mother started out as a child prodigy pianist in Vienna. Once Hitler had annexed Auatria, though, she was fortunate to escape, one of the several thousand Jewish children permitted to come to Britain on the Kindertransport - but leaving their families behind. Mona wrote a book about her mother and now performs an inspirational one-woman show telling the story through words and music. She's bringing it to the St James Theatre, London, later this month.

My piece is in The Independent today: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/theatre-dance/features/the-pianist-of-willesden-lane-mona-golabeks-moving-one-woman-show-about-her-mother-a6796511.html
